The sources of this second-label wine are no mystery. Here is an opportunity to taste and enjoy a sensational Cabernet Sauvignon, blended to be ready to drink early, but hold on and improve for 5-10 years. A masterful blend of many sites and many terroirs, but lends you that incredibly Napa Valley power and artistic winemaking at quite a reasonable price point.
94 POINTS - Jeb Dunnuck
A terrific value, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Jurisdiction checks in as 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc that spent 20 months in 62% new French oak. As with the Jurisprudence release, this comes from throughout the valley, with fruit mostly from Oakville, yet smaller amounts from St. Helena, Rutherford, and Coombsville. It’s one of the more sweetly fruited, front-end-loaded wines in the lineup and boasts a dense purple color as well as loads of red and black currant fruits, notes of baking spices, new leather, and spiced meats, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It’s a sexy beast of a Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years. - 1/27/2021
